Divisional Plan

Professional Learning Funding provided by Manitoba Education - Please provide details below

1) To date, how have you used the money your division received for K-8 teachers' LwICT professional learning in 2008-09 and 2009-10?
-Teacher PD, release time for 3 teachers to mentor (10% each), release time for ICT leaders within each school to meet as a team and mentor their staff as needed

2) What professional learning is occurring now because of the extra funding that you previously not able to do?
-team meetings for ICT leaders, time during the school day to work with teachers on specific technology needs for their class

3) Does your division have any strategies for ongoing professional learning (For example: Professional Learning Community - online, face-to-face, mentors, etc?)
-PLC, ICT blog, wiki, school del.icio.us & diigo links, network drive devoted to sharing of digital files/resources, Early Dismissal time, face to face, Division wide PD geared to technology integration, TIN nights

4) What successful strategies would you like to recommend to other divisions?

-team leader training, mentor time, Local SAG sessions (Harvest of Opportunities)

Report Card Samples

5) How often do you report on Literacy with ICT during the school year?
June, with final report

6) Which grades are reporting on Literacy with ICT?
k-8

7) When does the reporting occur?
June, with final report

8) What feedback have you received from parents regarding reporting of Literacy with ICT?
appreciate that the skills are being covered, discussions are happening and awareness is raised with students, because parents don't have all the info themselves

9) In certain circumstances, a child may have more than one teacher. How would/do your teachers report on a child's literacy with ICT in this circumstance? Please discuss with your divisional team and record some possible strategies to address this issue.
home room teachers report on progress with ICT, it is our feeling that the students at the MY level complete their self assessments as a class with discussion of evidence (can be done in indiv. subject specific classes as needed) If there are any concerns about an indiv. student's report, the staff would informally meet to discuss

10) If there have been changes to your divisional statement of belief on reporting on LwICT, since last year, upload or insert the text below.

Transition to Senior Years

11) Thoughts on Literacy with ICT transition to the Senior Years
-logically the next step, as the students are coming to Senior Years with skills developed in EY and MY
-based on Senior Years model, reporting is not feasible

-teachers continue to need support (resources/face-to-face/PD) to implement LwICT

12 )Ongoing support for K-8 teachers
-mentoring time (if possible), continued sharing of resources/links (web 2.0, etc), PD opportunities (for school leaders to come back & share with their staff/fpr all teachers)
